Call Parking Instructions

Call parking allows you to place a call on hold temporarily or transfer it to a shared hold for someone else to pick up.

Important Note:

Avoid using the HOLD button for extended periods, as calls may drop. Instead, use call parking.

How Call Parking Works

Call parking is also known as placing a call in a "Park Orbit." If your phone has multiple buttons, you may see options labeled:

  • 701: Call Park 1
  • 702: Call Park 2
  • 703: Call Park 3, etc.

Alternatively, your phone may display:

  • Call Park 1
  • Call Park 2
  • Call Park 3, etc.

By default, call parking starts at 701 and increments by 1 (e.g., 702, 703). We typically stop at 705, but more can be added if needed.

How to Park a Call

  1. While on a call, press any available Call Park button.
  2. The button will change from green to red and begin flashing, indicating the call is parked.
  3. If the call is for someone else, inform them to dial the park number (e.g., "Steve, please pick up 701").
    • In a warehouse or large office, use the page feature to announce the parked call.
  4. The recipient can pick up the call from any phone by dialing the corresponding park number (701, 702, etc.).

Alternative Methods to Park a Call

  • Blind Transfer: If your phone does not have Call Park buttons, transfer the call to Extension 701 (or the next available park number).
  • Automated Park: Transfer the call to *85, and the system will announce which extension the call is parked on.

Call Pickup & Removal

  • Once a parked call is picked up, it is automatically removed from the park number.
