Hostname needed for more assistance

You have asked for assistance on a computer, but we are unsure which computer you're on. If you email helpdesk@key2.ca it will not send us any computer details to us. But if you use the RMM software on your computer, it will send us that information.

First, we will show you how to get your hostname, then show you how to send a ticket from your computer so the next time we will have that email and there will be a delay in our response and getting your issue resolved.

First, click start, type cmd, and press enter.

Click on either in the photo below.

Then a black window will pop up.

In that window, type hostname, then press enter.

It will provide you with the host name of your computer. Get that and send it to us.

Next time, you can send us a ticket right from your computer and it will send us everything we need.

There are two ways to do this. First, will be in your taskbar. We usually add our logo to your taskbar to make it easier for you to submit a ticket. But it's possible it might not be there. You can request us to add it for you.

If you look at the bottom of your screen you should see our Key2 Logo. If you click on that it will open a window to create a ticket.

When you click on that it will pop up a window like this.

Please provide the title of your issue. What your issue is, and your email then click on Submit. It will then email us, and it will send you an email confirming we got the ticket. Then it will also capture your computer name and some back end details that we would need. Then we can start working on your issue right away.

The second way is similar, just the icon is in a different area.

In the bottom right corner of your screen to the left of the time you should see a ^ arrow, click ont that then you'll see some more icons.

You'll see the Key 2 logo, right click on it then you'll see a new window pop up.

Left click on Request support, then it will open this window, where you can submit your ticket like above.

That's it then you're done.

You can always email us at helpdesk@key2.ca
